What we offer
Progam description
Our program is exclusively for US Military Veterans who are lonely, suffering from depression, or who have been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), or physical disability.
Veterans:

Complete a brief screening process to determine their specific needs.

Choose their dog ONLY from animal shelters and rescues.

Work intimately with Vets To Vets United, Inc. trainers weekly to custom train dogs to accommodate specific needs of the Veteran.

Are required to participate in weekly training sessions with their dog.

Train future veterans and their companions.
-
Are required to donate time back by participating in facility maintenance at all levels.

Agree to occasional visits from Vets To Vets United, Inc. staff/volunteers for evaluations.

Services
Vets To Vets United, Inc.:

Unites veterans with companion/therapeutic/service dogs from local shelters and rescue organizations at no cost to the veteran

Provides free training for veterans and dogs

Partners the veteran and animal with local veterinarians for veterinary care at a

significantly reduced cost for the life of the animal

Organizes fun and educational animal-related tours and activities

Participates in community service projects and events

Conducts animal visits to local veteran transitional housing facilities
