Volunteer opportunities

Our volunteers are the lifeblood of Vets To Vets United, Inc. Volunteering for Vets to Vets United, Inc. is both rewarding and challenging. We need volunteers to assist with office tasks, foster dogs, and assist in training classes.

Some things that we need help with:

Foster Parent and Volunteer Trainer

After a few days of initial training, most of our pups are partnered  with a veteran to initiate the bonding process from the start. Some of our pups, however, will need to be placed in foster parent homes before partnering with a veteran. Foster parents bring the pups to training sessions at the training facility 2 to 3 times per week for up to 30 weeks. These are the best environments for our pups. Please contact us to learn more about our program and the responsibilities if you think you’d like to become a foster parent and volunteer trainer.

Short-term home for our dogs in training

This is a short-term commitment that involves temporarily housing and caring for a pup during a weekend or longer when a foster puppy parent goes out of town or has an emergency and cannot take the dog. Providing a short-term home for a pup is perfect for someone who isn’t able to make the time commitment to be a long-term foster parent.

Building and repairing training equipment

Are you handy with building things like ramps or grooming tables, or putting up gates; how about doing minor repairs  such as replacing light switches or repairing fences? If so, we need your help!  We also need those who like to sew to stitch patches on service vests, repair damaged vests, and make cage liners and decorative shirts for cages and tables.

Interested in volunteering?
Read our Volunteer Handbook and then email Camay Barnes at maiyibig2007@gmail.com to inquire about our program.
